We installed all new Bosch appliances in our newly purchased/built house in 2019. We were super excited to try out the new appliances due to the name brand and style. Unfortunately our microwave has descided to start tripping the breaker nonstop to the point that we have unplugged the microwave and are looking to replace it with a different brand. This is not the value we expected when spending all this money on Bosch appliances. I can see reading through other reviews this appears to be a significant issue that Bosch chooses to do nothing about. I guess Bosch appliances are good in name only.

Bosch 300 microwave does everything a microwave should do and does it well. All the shortcut buttons work great, especially the Defrost function. But there are two issues that make it difficult and frustrating to use: (1) The lettering on the panel/buttons is TOO SMALL and hard to see; you need to make it larger! (2) Once my food is ready the oven just shuts off - no notice on the panel other than the time of day. As a result, I've left many meals/beverages in there! Would be very helpful to have the panel read "Your meal is ready" or similar until the door is opened.

I will never have another Bosch

We have had this microwave repaired 6 times since 2019 because Bosch only offered to pay for repairs and the same thing kept happening. It was under it's 1 year warrenty and they sent out a repair service to fix the fuse, within a month it went out again. They paid for several things, one being door switch and another fuse, the pattern kept repeating and they never would offer a replacement. 2 years later still happening and they keep repairing until this month when they offered $200 for a $500 microwave, why would I pay $300 for a Bosch microwave that will probably do the same thing, never again. Our Bosch oven (not cheap) has had the theromostat replaced twice since 2018, just glad my husband can do this job. I will not own another Bosch product and when I read other reviews with similar complaints I wonder how can they keep doing this.

Terrible product. I will be replacing a 4 year old microwave with another brand. I bought mine in 2018 and in last 4 years the door switch has failed 4 times! It's $250+ for the repair each time. This product clearly has a design flaw and Bosch will not take responsibility for it. Bad product and bad customer service. Do better or stop doing business, Bosch!

My wife and I bought a condo in Hawaii that came with a BOSCH 300 HMV3052U microwave. It only lasted five years. It worked fine until now. The settings were simple, but that was good for us. I have another old much cheaper microwave that has lasted 25 years. It is cheaper to replace it than to fix it, I discovered. Not going to buy another Bosch.

History: - 4/2018 purchased HMV3053SS - 1/2019 failed. Circuit breaker trips when closing door. Frequency of this problem increased, until finally would see large spark at wall plug when plugging in the microwave. ==> Replaced with new HMV3053SS. ==> We began being extra-gentle when opening & closing the door. ==> Purchased the four year extended warranty (could do this because it was less than 12 months since purchase at Abt). - 12/2019. Failed again in the same way. ==> In addition to being extra-gentle with the door, we began turning off the microwave before opening the door. That is, even if it was running with some time remaining, instead of opening the door, we would turn it off and then open the door. - 5/2022. Failed again in the same way. ==> We are shopping for a microwave that does not have this inherrent design flaw.

So far so good. Bought this apprehensively after reading the reviews to go with the stove we purchased. Returned the first one because the mounting bolt on top released into the oven when installing. Works ok. Not as good as the Fridgeadaire gallery we had previously. Seems cheaply manufactured. Thought we were upgrading but not so much.

I bought this microwave at a small appliance store. They only had maybe eight over the range microwaves. This microwave was the one that had the biggest turntable and I was looking for that. After it was installed I found out the clock has to be on and the light to the clock is bright: so bright that I put 5 pieces of "Scotch" tape over it and it is still bright. At night it lights up the whole kitchen. The kitchen is adjacent to the main room of the house. If someone ever "couch surfs" in that room, we will have to cover up the light. After it was installed I realized the numbers are so small I hung a flashlight by the cabinet next to the microwave to use to see the numbers. In the store there are bright florescent lights so I didn't notice when purchasing the microwave that the numbers would be hard to see under normal kitchen light. I eventually bought stick on numbers from the Internet and put them over the number on the microwave. The other microwaves I have had, the turntable turns one circle in 10 second. Most of the time a person uses 10 second intervals, then the food ends up in the same position as when you put it into the microwave. This microwave doesn't make one revolution in 10 seconds so handles to the food container end up in a weird position. There also no way to turn the turntable off. On very few occasions I have put something oversized in my former microwave that was too big to turn so then I was able to turn the turntable off. Not with this microwave. When I bought this microwave I thought to myself that I should have looked around more (at different stores), but I thought to myself, "It's here, I'm here, I'll just buy it". I thought it was unusual Bosch was making a microwave, but, I thought there was no reason why Bosch could not. Now I wish I had looked around more before buying it.

Due to size constraints, I had to find an over-the-range microwave that would fit in the space that a supposed higher end GE microwave once occupied. I had nothing but issues with the GE product that I had for just a short time and when GE continued to fail to return my calls or respond to my emails to fix the product for the uptenth time. I purchased the Bosch for not only being the right size but for the reviews and their reputation. I would have purchased a higher end version but they were to big. The 300 Series has fewer features but it fits my needs well and does a much better job than the GE. Everything about it is better. Better power, better light, better vent, better cooking, etc. The only thing I wish it could do is to turn the turntable off so it didn't rotate when I was trying to cook larger dishes. However, that has not been a deterent for me to use it to its fullest. I really enjoy this product and will by all means purchase furthe Bosch products in the future.

The microwave works great, but did not last. After 2.5 years the door started to come apart. The top molding is broken and there is a crack in the plastic by the handel. Repair costs as much as a replacement. We have all Bosch appliances and all but one has been repaired so far. Again, disappointed.

Door switches tripping breakers

The actual unit is decent at heating stuff up, but has had issues (twice) with tripping the breakers when the door shuts. The plastic door latch inside the unit is flimsy and wears. It was replaced once and less than a year later started doing the same thing.

A momma here, with 3 little ones and we use our microwave a lot! We bought our brand new home a little over 2 years ago with Bosch appliances included (actually part of a selling point for us!). In the time we've been here, our microwave has tripped more times than I could keep up with. We've replaced parts twice and are currently on our third replacement parts and now those aren't even working. Unfortunately the microwave has been SUPER disappointing. I wish that Bosch would have been more helpful when we first reached out and after reading many reviews, would get a team on understanding how so many people are having the same issues and how they can peoduce or engineer a better product.

Product should be recalled. I have experienced the same problem that so many others have with the door switch going bad or Fuses blowing. It was tripping the breaker so I had a dedicated line put in. It's no longer trips the breaker, it just quits working.My unit has been repaired at least three times and it will not work for more than 3 to 6 months at a time. My unit was purchased in 2018 and from my read of other reviews the same problems persist with newer models. With the vast numbers of people experiencing the same problem one would think that Bosch would fix whatever the problem is or take it off the market. This product is a lemon and should be replaced. I will say that Bosch has covered the cost of service. However, servicing the unit is not the answer because the problem has not been resolved and is recurring.

I ran into the microwave tripping my breaker. Bought all the 3 switches and replaced them. 1 of the switches was actually stuck due to oil gathering and preventing the switch from working. After cleaning the oil and sticking residue off, switch works as intended.

I like this microwave, my only complaint is that it doesnt have the quick on 1-5 minutes like my last one did. if you want 3 minutes you have to push time cook and 300. It does have the quick 30 second option.

Very poor performance from Bosch. They should stick to European markets where the quality really does not matter that much compared to USA. My new unit trips circuit breaker after 2 yrs of usage. Bosch sent a technician who replaced everything but the entire until. 6 months later, same problem. I have had microwaves from other brands for decades of usage and no issues. Not worth buying Bosch microwaves for sure

Like everyone else on this website - I started having the microwave door trip my circuit breaker. If I unplug it and put the food in and then plug it back in - the microwave works fine. It's the door sensors that are defective. It is hard to believe that a company of this reputation will allow this product to still be sold. It is a bad product. Do not buy this. We purchased a complete Bosch package for our remodled kitchen and chose it because of it's supposed quality. We will be replacing the microwave and finding another brand. How many customers need to complain about this before the problem is addressed?

Circuit Breaker madness

We bought this microwave in the summer of 2017. In the summer of 2020 it started tripping the breaker. Not being aware that most of these units fail this way I called the dealer. They made me have an electrician check the house wiring. That cost $120 and the electrician verified the microwave was the problem. Then it cost $225 to have it fixed. Now about 15 months later it's failing again. We contemplated buying another identical unit as the simple drop in unit but now that I see 50% of the reviews involve the same failure we'll have to try and find another brand to replace it with. This is unfortunate as our whole kitchen is Bosch and everything else is great, and it might be a lot more work to install a different brand into the opening above the stove.

This microwave died in less than 3 years of light use. Bosch repair service was not available for several weeks, and then advised that the repair would cost essentially the same as a new unit. Unfortunately, based on other reviews, this experience is common for Bosch microwaves, so I would advise to look elsewhere.

Should Last Longer

Bought this model in 2018 and it just recently died. Had an electrician come by to see if it was fixable and it is not. While it worked it was fine, but at this price, I expected to have the unitl last longer than 2.5 - 3 years. We have Bosch dishwashers and ranges that we are very happy with, but I will not buy another Bosch Over The Range Microwave, when there are so many less expensive and highly rated ones on Consumer Reports.

OTR Microwave Replacement Hits all the Marks

The 300 Series Microwave replaced a built-in unit that was just over 20 years old. The new oven fits the installation details of the older oven and replicates its most important functions. It is more flexible in venting, includes better lighting, and has well-chosen programmed options for quicker cooking. The lighting in the oven is good, as well, and it is easy to clean. The finish is attractive and matches well with other stainless appliances. A minor detail that could help function would be to have larger or brighter text on the control panel, but repeating the same procedures will diminish that initial challenge over a short time. The on line access to registration is a continung problem though. The automatic process on line doesn't seem to function; I've been waiting for an email to confirm my address for 5 days, even after two emails to support. I had similar trouble trying to register a dishwasher. I'm not sure what that suggests about any needed technical support, so I've taken off one star. However, I am very happy with the performance and appearance of the microwave.
